WASHINGTON – Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA), the trade association representing commercial service airports in the United States and Canada, today issued the following statement from President and CEO Kevin M. Burke on funding included in H.R. 1 for air traffic control modernization:
“ACI-NA applauds Congress for including critical airport and aviation priorities in H.R. 1 that will strengthen aviation safety and efficiency across the country,” said ACI-NA President and CEO Kevin M. Burke. “The $12.5 billion investment to modernize our air traffic control system represents a long-overdue step toward replacing aging infrastructure with next-generation technology and ensuring controllers have both the tools and support they need to safely manage the nation’s airspace. These improvements will help reduce delays, enhance safety, and deliver a more reliable experience for passengers and cargo operators alike.”
